Who We Are

Cornerstone Community Foundation, Inc.
Is Doing Business “At the Corner”

Cornerstone Community Foundation was formed on November 2, 2020, and received Tax-exempt status on October 22, 2021, as a separate non-profit agency to support the mission of Cornerstone Community Church. In an effort to become a cornerstone in the community we felt it necessary to provide the best opportunities to raise financial support and develop programs for the most vulnerable populations in the city of Norwalk. It is our hope to serve all stages of life in an effort to deepen community connections and build community strength by developing responsible, vital and committed citizens and foster wholeness in individuals.

Immigrant Support Services

EL CAMINO HACIA EL FUTURO

(The WAY INTO THE FUTURE)

Initiated through work from providing case management for Rental Assistance Support through a grant received through Connecticut Institute for Refugees and Immigrants. We began to recognize how much support our immigrant residents needed to navigate the governmental systems of the city and state successfully. We began to provide support to complete other applications, for housing, for jobs, for benefits, for the children’s school.
El Camino will provide:

II. Family dinners for resourcing and networking, deepen                    community services relationships

The Rev. Elizabeth C. Abel

CEO/President

Lead Visionary. Raised in New York, moved to Norwalk in 2019 to Pastor Cornerstone Community Church. Served during the COVID-19 pandemic. Worked with community partners and the City of Norwalk to ensure the basic needs of the residents were met. A Social Worker by trade, Community developer and organizer by passion.

Christina Wycliff

Program Coordinator
Daughter of Norwalk, first born of immigrant parents. Graduate of Brien McMahon High School. Graduate of SUNY Stony Brook. Christina is the Missions Coordinator for Cornerstone Community Church and has a passion to support youth development and be in service in her community. Coordinating and assisting mass food drives with the city of Norwalk and becoming a community partner to many agencies were just a few of her roles before becoming a program director for At the Corner. She’s passionate about community service, including coordinating, volunteering, and serving. She also has an interest in Fund Development.

Francesca Nunez

Program Director

Born in Puerto Rico, immigrated to the US when she was 6 months to Stamford, CT. Graduated from Rippowam High School, Stamford, CT and continued her studies in Business at Berkeley College in White Plains, NY. She has worked in Case Management for 10 years, primarily in Norwalk.

Pamela Toason

Administrative Support

A seasoned Administrative Assistant with experience working for Fortune 500 CEO’s, as well as Pastors of local churches. Her talents and passion for creating flyers and videos makes her an excellent content creator for social media. Pam has been a vital piece of the development and creation of At the Corner.

Hakim Peay

Creative Director

Born in Harlem, New York, Hakim attended Cooper Union, and Pratt Institute where he honed his natural artist and digital design skills. Working in digital ad creation for top ad companies like Olgilvy Mather and McCann Erickson, Hakim decided to branch out on his own. He started a Web and App development company with a niche in graphic design and brand identity called eOrigo. Hakim has been a major design and development contributor for The United Methodist Church for over four years before joining Rev. Abel’s staff.

Anamilena Moreno

Director of Youth Development and Engagement

A first generation daughter of Norwalk, by way of immigrant parents from Colombia. Graduate of Norwalk Public Schools, completed her  undergraduate studies in Psychology at Western Connecticut University and received her Master of Social Work degree from Sacred Heart University. 

As a social worker she has a passion for youth and immigrants and is the Community Engagement Coordinator for Norwalk ACTS. She is grateful to be able to work in her hometown, with organizations dedicated to ensure Norwalk is a connected and equitable community where every child and young person can successfully thrive.
